Frequently Asked Questions

  • Commitment

Club soccer requires commitment from both players and parents. When your child accepts a spot on their team, they are required to commit to play in the Fall and Spring season.

  • Player Evaluations/Tryouts

If your son/daughter is wanting to play in the 2026 / 2027 season, tryouts for both Impact and Valhalla will be the week of May 18. Please use the registration link to sign-up and more information will be sent. Sporting Queen City Tryouts will be the week of May 11.

Playing Up: A player can tryout for an older age group only if that player has been recommended by a current / former coach. Those players will be communicated with prior to tryouts.

  • Team Placement - Academy U6 - U8 Teams

All players that attend tryouts will be placed on an academy team. The players will train with their age group. For league games during the Fall season, the players may be mixed (meaning the coaches will mix up the girls to see which ones work well together.) For the Spring league games, players will begin to play with girls of similar talent level.

  • Team Placement - U9 - U17 Teams

The players are divided by skill and ability for these teams. Typically, Impact has two to three teams in each age group to accommodate all levels of development. These teams will compete in various leagues around the Cincinnati area.

  • Fees - Academy Teams (U6-U8)

Team fees are typically between $300 – $400 per player. This includes Fall, Winter training, and Spring. The older academy teams will attend one to two tournament. The fee also includes two uniform shirts.

  • Practices

Most of the teams will train twice a week during the season and once a week in the off season, January & February (indoors, of course). Practices are held within the Loveland/Miami Township/Symmes Township area. Most teams will take November and December off, with the exception of some teams choosing to play in indoor leagues.

  • Season

The soccer season runs from August to late May, with winter activities as optional (but recommended for our top level teams).

  • Games

Most league games are played on Saturdays or Sundays, with the exception of a few weeknight games during the season. Games are played throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. Our older, more competitive teams, will have a few games in the Columbus and Dayton area. Teams will typically play in 12-18 games a seasons (which includes tournaments).

  • Tournaments

Teams will typically play in two to three tournaments per season. We encourage our older teams to participate in some out of town tournaments for team bonding and to make memories for the players.

  • Playing Other Sports

Yes, we encourage our players to be involved in other sports and activities. While it may take away from potential soccer training time, our philosophy is that it will help them learn other skills, develop additional muscle groups and reduce stress from repetitive motion, and will keep their interest in soccer longer. All we ask is that you don’t take advantage of this freedom/flexibility and make sure you treat both sports/activities as equals. Top tier teams may require more commitment once the team reaches the U11/U12 level.
